Elman Wall COVID-19 Business Updates for the Travel Industry (‘Zoominars’)
When COVID-19 hit and the world as we knew it completely changed, our clients needed advice and information urgently. The Travel Industry was at the sharp end of those industries severely impacted. As the UK’s leading independent firm of Travel Industry Accountants, we were in a unique position to appreciate the enormous challenges facing our clients and their businesses right across the whole travel sector. Early April 2020 we launched our COVID-19 Travel Industry Update ‘Zoominar’. Little did we expect at that time that this would prove to be the first of many.
During the course of the last year we have held 8 such Zoominars which have brought together leaders of many trade regulatory bodies such as ABTA and the CAA, Trade Associations from Business Travel to UK Inbound, AITO and others, HR & Employment Law experts, trade lawyers and, of course our own highly experienced heads of Accounting, Tax & M&A. Guest speakers have ranged from Simon Calder, the UK’s leading travel journalist, to Rob Yeung, a psychologist and mental health expert. To date, over 35 speakers have addressed our audiences of well over 400 attendees on average. Apart from the invaluable sharing of insights, knowledge and practical help, our clients and Travel Industry friends tell us that they have, above all, appreciated the space to share stories, receive inspiration and support from their colleagues and feel part of close-knit community during this hugely challenging time. We are humbled and pleased that we have been able to facilitate this.
